I have cooked up a few new World of Warcraft Raid Icons for:
Heroics
PVP (Battlegrounds or whatever)
and Arena
and wanted to see if people are interested, or if someone already has something out there..
Let me know and I can post them up if wanted.

Edit:
Icons attached!
If someone has a request for a specific icon, I might be able to work something out.

Edit 2:
Icons have been redone and changed to 8 Bit color to support Transparency in IE. :)
If you have downloaded them, you may want to download again and replace your copies.

I just realized that the images I made are PNGs like the rest, but for some reason they don't show up with transparency in IE like the ones in the WoW game package.. Anyone know a fix for this?

Edit:
I should say that I realize that IE doesn't inherently support PNG transparency, but for some reason the icons in the default package seem to pull it off..

Probably because the icons in the original pack were created in some program similar to Photoshop with the background set to "transparent" instead of a colored background. My self created raid icons work perfectly when I did it this way.

Not quite true about the transparency thing in IE.
It does not understand to display PNGs in 24bit and transparency mask. But it does understand the same thing for 8bit. So if you create the icons in 8bit color depth with transparency, IE will show them, too. It's no matter which program you use if it does support setting a transparency color or mask.

The obvious other icon you might have a bash at is the new patch 2.4 Sunwell Isle one.

Excellent! This is the exact information I needed. I used Photoshop to get the icons in and edit, but I left them at 24 Bit color with the transparency I believe. I will swap them to 8 Bit color and see how they fare.

And I will have a crack at the new 2.4 Sunwell Raid icon.. that is.. if I can find a nice high res version of the Icon.. WoWWiki to the rescue.

Not a raid icon, but perhaps someone can look at the warrior icon, too (the round one), as it is the only round one instead of the rounded edge look. In phpraid it was another icon having the same rounded edge look. Perhaps someone would like to "correct" that, too ;)

Ask and ye shall recieve.

One thing that I *did* notice while trying to open the other class icons to compare to: despite the filenames being ".png" files.. they are actually GIF89a files. So.. that may be something for someone who as access to the original distribution files..

Vamp, if you want them as GIF files instead, you should be able to open the png files in any photo editing program and resave them as GIF files.

But without further ado, here is the rounded corner square warrior icon (as a true PNG file and not a GIF)..

Vamp,
Yeah. In the case of the class icon files, just renaming the file is enough.

But the Raid Icons, you will have to open with a graphics editing program and resave them to make them GIFs.

You CANNOT just rename the files. You must load them into a graphics editing program and save them in the format you require.

Out of interest why do you want gifs and not png? I can think of no reasons at all that you NEED gifs. Probably just that you are used to gif and not sure about png working. Trust me if a browser can read a gif it can read a png. So stick with png files and save yourself a lot of worry.

well I got two request
an icon for world bosses and one for sunwell plateau.
redone AQ 20,40 icons of the ones in the horde&alliance image pack would be nice too. They kinda seem out of place with the rest.

I really like the style of the icons you made.
Dunno what font you're using though.

I am going to wait on the Icon for Sunwell till we get a few more screenshots of bosses and Blizzard releases their "Official" raid icon on their raid calendar.

As for redone AQ icons.. I played around a little bit and finally came up with something that didn't look like total crap. See what you all think..

The font I am using? Well.. thats a bit hard as I'm not using a font. I'm taking the existing Icons and reusing letters and improvising when needed.
