View Full Version : Please Rethink "RC" As Your Versioning Scheme

So, I think you've done a lot of work and a good job. I'm not upset about donating $18 to your fund.

But calling this an "RC" is very misleading and can really lead to a lot of negative feelings.

A Release Candidate is a version of the software that is ready to be shipped and used in a production environment... it's just going through it's final testing phases.

The RC4 drop is what I would call barely beta. Please understand, this is not a slam on you or any of the devs, it's a simple fact. I love what you're doing and where you're going, but you really need to change RC to Pre-Beta or Closed-Beta.

Again, I'm not upset or slamming what is there, but I spent an hour or so setting it all up and learning how to get some stuff working only to get to the end and not have a working raid scheduler. I'm all for testing, but again, calling this a Release Candidate is very misleading.

Thanks for the hardwork!
