View Full Version : PHPraider release?
Not being a 'charter member' i thought I'd ask how the development was coming along and how long you think until a formal release?

Normally I stick to my grounds, the charter member forum, however, I'm bopping out to let ya know that we hope to have it between 2 weeks and 2 months. Why can't I give a better description than that? Well, the midgets state that I can only speak for myself, and unfortunately, Spiffy in the man in charge, since he's doing all the coding and whatnot.
RC8 is going to be featureful, and RC9 will be a charter version as well as it will be used as a way to fix the bugs which we will see coming from the flood of features (and the sheer size) that come with RC8. The test server of RC8 seems stable though... so here's the hoping :)
Well the response is appreciated, thanks..
Here's hoping 2 weeks :P...Best of luck with the testing

Just as a note, should it have been Betas instead of Release Candidates?
Since not all the features and bugs were fixed.

Hey, I just work here! Heh. The story behind that was that the original code had so many spheghetti code bugs that were just unobtainably not able to be fixed that he did a full recode into the new modular format. If there's a problem now, it's easily isolatable to the module and therefore Spiffy changed it from beta to RCx. Is it something I'd do myself *shrugs* who knows. But I know every patch he's always gearing to get it to the public. If it wasn't for these bugs, Spiffy wanted it public around RC5. Quality of project however has delayed it like this.
I myself am rather *coughs* anal retentive about details. And I tell him flat out if it's worth a public release or not in my opinion. But he has full rights to ignore it, it's his baby afterall :). At this time, It's "functional" enough for a public release, so thus it is a release client. But it's lacking features that phpraid even has within it and will be added. It'd be poor to publish it til it's at least at the same featurability of phpraid... let alone surpass it's splendor
's midgets start applauding
Shuddup guys...
